Material Truths: Heidi Bailey + Liz Roetzel May 3–31, 2025 In Material Truths, Heidi Bailey and Liz Roetzel use assemblage and collage to explore craft and décor, rigorously and playfully reframing materials traditionally associated with “women’s work.” Both artists transform and layer materials into thoughtful, conceptual pieces that examine our connections to memory, nature, and one another. Bailey and Roetzel employ similar processes, combining unexpected objects and images to create striking narratives—at times beautiful, at times disorienting—where materials defy expectations, resulting in works that are fresh, provocative, and wholly new.
