CoAction Earns Three-Year CARF Accreditation

NORTHWEST INDIANA — CARF International announced that CoAction has been accredited for a period

of three years for its programs. This is the first accreditation that the accrediting body, CARF

International, has awarded to CoAction .

This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be given to an

organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An

organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has gone through a rigorous peer-review process.

CoAction has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit its commitment to offering

programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.

Established in 1965, CoAction serves as a driving force in reducing poverty and expanding opportunities

throughout Northwest Indiana. As the region’s designated Community Action Agency, Area Agency on

Aging, and WIC sponsor, CoAction is committed to building a community where all individuals can thrive,

regardless of age, ability, or income. Its mission is to connect people facing financial challenges with the

resources, opportunities, and dignity they need to achieve stability and success.

Each year, CoAction supports approximately 38,000 individuals through a coordinated network of

services focused on nutrition, housing, financial stability, and aging. Guided by the belief that everyone

deserves care and opportunity, CoAction meets people where they are and empowers them to create a

stronger future for themselves and their families.

CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services whose mission

CARF International, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations
