Munster, IN – Saturday, April 12 – Springtime brings an influx of puppies and kittens to shelters across the country, and Humane Indiana is no exception. To help care for these vulnerable young animals, Humane Indiana invites the community to its Annual Animal Baby Shower on Saturday, April 12—a special event designed to support the organization’s vital Foster Program.

This heartwarming celebration will take place at the Humane Indiana Shelter and Adoption Center and will feature light refreshments, raffles, and, of course, plenty of adorable baby animals. Guests of all ages are welcome. It’s the perfect opportunity for animal lovers and families to show their support, meet some of the animals currently in care, and maybe even find a new furry friend to adopt.

“This event is a joyful way to connect our community with the lifesaving work being done every day,” said Brian Fitzpatrick, CEO of Humane Indiana. “By supporting our foster program, you're giving these animals a second chance—and that starts with compassion and care from people like you.”

Admission is $15 for adults and children over 12, and $5 for children under 12. Tickets are available now, and early registration is encouraged.

In addition to attending, guests are encouraged to bring a donation or gift from Humane Indiana’s Baby Shower Wish List. Donated items—or receipts of purchase—will serve as raffle entries, giving attendees a chance to win fun prizes while providing essential supplies for puppies and kittens in need.

“Each spring, our shelter is overwhelmed by the number of puppies and kittens needing care,” said Jessica Petalas, Senior Director of Shelter and Clinic Operations. “Events like the Animal Baby Shower make it possible to meet that need—by engaging the public and strengthening the network of support for our youngest, most vulnerable animals.”

The event also highlights the critical role foster families play in saving lives.

“Fostering saves lives, plain and simple,” said Rachel Gaskey, Foster Coordinator for Humane Indiana. “Whether you foster for a few days or a few weeks, you’re giving these babies the love and safety they need until they’re ready for adoption. The Baby Shower is a great way to learn how you can help—and have a little fun while you're at it!”

The Annual Animal Baby Shower offers a meaningful way for the community to come together and ensure every young animal receives the love, care, and resources they need to thrive. Humane Indiana looks forward to celebrating with supporters and making a lasting impact for animals throughout the region.
