Portage Township YMCA Announces Healthy Kids Day & 1st Annual Family 5K on Saturday, April 26

PORTAGE, IN — The Portage Township YMCA is excited to announce its upcoming Healthy Kids Day & 1st Annual Family 5K on Saturday, April 26! This family-friendly event will offer a fun-filled day of activities aimed at promoting health, wellness, and community engagement among area youth. Healthy Kids Day is FREE and open to the public from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, making it the perfect way for families to come together and kickstart a healthy lifestyle thi summer.

The event will feature a variety of exciting demonstrations, giveaways, activities, and vendors for all ages, including:

• Rivers Edge Homestead Traveling Petting Farm, sponsored by Reeder's Auto Service Center
• Portage Kiwanis and Portage Fire Department Bike Rodeo
• Portage Police Department with comfort dog, Tilly, and SWAT
• Ballet Folklorico Tapatio Company of Northwest Indiana

In addition to Healthy Kids Day, the 1st Annual Family 5K will also take place, with registration open for just $30 per runner through April 23rd. All participants will receive a Healthy Kids Day t-shirt as part of their registration. The 5K is a fantastic way to get active and support a great cause, and we encourage everyone to participate! Race begins at 2:30 PM at the Portage Township YMCA located at 3100 Willowcreek Rd., Portage, IN.

Registration for the 5K can be completed online at runsignup.com.
