The Recycling & Waste Reduction District of Porter County Now Accepting Applications for Community Grant Opportunity
The Recycling and Waste Reduction District of Porter County (“District”) has funding available to inspire non-profit organizations, schools, libraries, civic organizations, clubs, and businesses operating within Porter County to implement innovative solid waste reduction, reuse, or recycling programs.
Proposals may include, but are not limited to:
New or expanding recycling programs
Environmental education programs
Waste-related public outreach initiatives
Recycled-content purchasing initiatives
The District’s Citizens Advisory Board CAC will accept grants through July 1st, 2026. Grants will be awarded in January 2027. Eligibility is limited to those listed above.

The Citizens Advisory Committee is made up of Porter County citizens who possess a passion for the environment and a desire to be a part of a team, which can affect change. Members are appointed by the Recycling District Board Members annually.
